Bags under the eyes/Sagging
The eye is the most important element of beauty and facial expression. In old age the upper eyelid can sag or droop while bags can appear underneath the eye. They can also appear in younger years for structural or genetic reasons. This can make people look older than they are. Drooping of the upper eyelid can affect sight in later years. Eyelid corrective surgery (Blefaroplasty) can make a person look healthy and young.
Congenital drooping eyelids can lead to amblyopia. If the drooping is severe the eyelid has to be operated on urgently and eye-patch therapy has to be applied. Eyelid droop in old age is usually the result of weak muscles. Treatment for this is eyelid lifting.
INTURNED OUR OUTTURNED EYELIDS
If the eyelid is turned inwards (Entropium) the eyelashes can cause discomfort in the form of itching, watering and redness.
If the lower eyelid is turned outwards (Ectropium) the eye can become too dry or too wet. In both cases the treatment is surgery.
